Resources

It’s easy to say we should exercise dominion with greater care for God’s original design; it’s often much harder to know how to do that in practice.  Although this page, like the rest of the site, is a work in progress, my hope is that the resources here will help as we aim to grow in this area.  (Book links may be affiliate links.)

Homesteading & Trades (Household Provision for Basic Needs)

  • Sustain Life – This is the website of a group in Texas teaching traditional skills.  Although they have on-site classes, they also have a variety of workshops and courses (both free and paid) on the website itself, on topics like: sewing, pottery, blacksmithing, basketry, food preservation, breadmaking, cheesemaking, animal husbandry, agriculture, beekeeping, etc.
  • Durable Trades  – This book, by Rory Groves, is like a directory of trades, each one scored according to measures such as ease of getting started, income potential, and how viable it is to balance with family life.
